Our first encounter…
It was in the evening, just before Easter when we first experienced the masterful cuisines of Eric Sapet as we dined at La Mirande, Bel Hôtel Avignonnais. The freshest seafood with a delicate touch, lamb from the Alpilles region prepared to perfection, a glass or two of wine and some vocal discussions confirmed our thoughts; traditional Provence cuisine with flair, the highest quality ingredients and a passion and enthusiasm for preparing memorable meals…and an atmosphere of friendliness and familiarity…all the ingredients we were seeking as we guide La Benvendgudo through the next few years…

Since that initial encounter, and for the last year or so, Eric Sapet, renowned chef and gastronome, has assisted us in the creation of that same atmosphere of quality food and wine in a convivial and welcoming environment that we initially experienced, and now in place here at La Benvengudo. His knowledge and passion for traditional Provence cuisine with a modern touch has played a key role in making our restaurant what it is today. Eric is both a friend and mentor to us and to Patrick Pando, our resident chef, ensuring a quality dining experience for our guests through Eric’s guidance, counsel and remarkable ability to locate and select only the best ingredients and produce from Provence and Alpilles.
