La Benvengudo is searching for waiters / waitresses to join its restaurant in Provence

As our restaurant will re-open in March for the 2008 season, we invite you to join our team as a waiter / waitress. You work during the restaurant’s opening hours. You accommodate our hotel and regular guests. You demonstrate a deep knowledge of our dishes and wine list. You bring a positive and can-do attitude both to your work and our guests.

Competences:

• Mis-en-place and clearing of the restaurant area, cleaning and maintenance of materials and premises.
• Presentation and service of dishes and drinks according to the rules of usage.
• Accommodate and inform guests, present our products and encourage sales.
• Taking guests’ orders and calculating bills.
• Record, reformulate and transfer information, messages and consignments.
• Understanding and make oneself understood in English.
• Knowledge of consumer habits and recognising different types of clients.
• Possessing notions of wines and "sommellerie".
• Knowledge of local cultural and tourist activities.

The position also requires following capabilities:

• Executing all tasks with confidence, dexterity and courtesy.
• Adapting to a varied, international group of clients.
• Effectively organising one's work.
• Possessing good oral and visual memory.
• Resisting physical fatigue and nervousness.
• Adhering to strict hygienic rules.
• Working in a team.

Specific competences:

• Cleaning silverware and glassware.
• Decorating the tables in the hotel restaurant (floral decorations, folding of napkins...).
• Serving at the table. 
• Polyvalent.
