Founded in 1967 by Maryse and Daniel Beaupied, La Benvengudo was built on the grounds of an old vineyard...
Whilst Chef in the Riboto de Taven in Les Baux (which was awarded one Michelin star thanks to Daniels' culinary talent developed with Paul Bocuse at Fernand Point in Vienna), Daniel undertook the construction of the family Country house. In 1972, Daniel decided to create his own restaurant within the Country house as well as adding guest rooms; Maryse decorated the new rooms with classic Provencal pieces of furniture unearthed by scouring the antique dealers of the area. Today, our Country House offers over 25 rooms and apartments.
The spirit of the Beaupied family reigns since the creation of the Country house where Carole and Sebastien, the two children of Maryse and Daniel, grew up.
Sebastien was on the point of taking on the day-to-day direction of the Inn when he tragically disappeared in 2002. Today it is Carole, and at her side her husband Viktor Puetzer, who fly the family banner and perpetuate the family tradition while Maryse and Daniel enjoy a well-deserved retirement.
Carole's ambition, at the outset of the 21st century, is to maintain in her family house the spirit and atmosphere whereby everyone is welcomed as a special guest and that they feel at home with the sun and the charm of Provence in background, while offering a level of comfort, care and equipment which will satisfy the most discerning guest.
Carole and Viktor's children, Lara and Adrien, are already preparing to take on the challenge in a few years...
